Jacob PerryWritten on April 8, 2019'XCOM 2 isn't really a free-to-play turn-based strategy game but, if I may say, this is a console-friendly game. I remember that when this was launched, it had some technical issues but after some patches, it was fine-tuned. The best tip I can give you is to avoid combat fatigue. Do this by rotating your soldiers. Thank me later! 'Thanks for voting! Please tell us why you like it!

Anthony WilliamsonWritten on July 2, 2018'This is the best turn-based strategy game at the moment. I don't mind paying 60 bucks for Civilization 6 since it already has a good track record. The first few games were very good and the developers have done it again. I personally didn't think that they can top the last title as it seemed perfect in every way, but then again, here's this game. I would truly, honestly, recommend this to people who love turn-based strategy games.'Thanks for voting! Please tell us why you like it!

Reading comments from users made me believe that it could be a good game. It doesn't cost as much as the top-rated games from other websites (which coincidentally are also the ones that are top-rated here) so I think this could be legit.'Thanks for voting! Did you know Sid Meier's groundbreaking innovation game Civilization inspired turn-based strategy games? The game was released in 1991 as a pioneer in the 4x and turn-based strategy genre. It became the basis of many similar turn-based games until today. Because of that, Meier received many awards and attribution for his creation of the game. It was also given the Best Military or Strategy Computer Game of 1001. Moreover, the Computer Gaming World in 1996 recognized it as the Best Game of All Time. The New York Times has also included Civilization on its 2007 Game Canon list. The list includes nine other games, which NYT's readers deemed as the most influential games in the world of gaming.
Many of today's best turn-based strategy games are like Civilization with their science fiction theme. Alien-invasion themed XCOM 2, intergalactic-themed Warhammer 40,000: Regicide, and Galactic Civilizations III. But, a big part of this genre is based on history, like the fifth installment of Sega's Total War series Empire. It has storylines from the Napoleonic Wars to the colonization and eventual freedom of America from Great Britain. Koei's Nobunaga's Ambition series is also based on history, particularly during Japan's feudal era.

I think even a non-Warhammer can pick this game up quickly due to how intuitive the control is. Once I got the hang of it, all the micromanagement aspect of the game didn't seem so bad, I actually grew to enjoy the challenge. SEGA and Creative Assembly did an excellent job on this game and I highly recommend this if you are a turn-based strategy game fan.'Thanks for voting! Please tell us why you like it!
