Oct 14, 2015 so i turned off the display and the 'hardware acceleration' option and its still crapping out. Just tried recording and it crashed 10 minutes in, which seems to happen more often than not. It either crashes or when it doesn't, the video is screwed up(as described in my other thread). so i just 'ran' another test(2, 10-15 minute long videos), this time using my game cube with the composite cables hooked up to the A/V in port on the PVR. the video came out great, no skipped frames, no messed up image, nothing out of sync, just great. i didnt change anything but the system i was recording(Game cube instead of Xbox 360) and i recorded the video to the external drive with the usb hooked up to the back of the CPU. so, in theory, that would have to mean the problem is with the HDMI cable(s), yeah? im using the HDMI cable that the PVR came with as HDMI out and i bought an Xbox HDMI cable(microsoft brand) that is the HDMI in. if i had to guess which cable is faulty(if that is the problem) i would hazard a guess its the hauppauge brand cable. ill try switching both and then doing another test
